About Me
I'm Mrs. Greenwood and I've been teaching at Great Commission Schools since it opened in 1996. I have been teaching first and/or second grade since 1991. I graduated from Penn State with a B.S. Degree.
Classes
In first grade we study Spelling, Arithmetic, English, Phonics, Reading, and Penmanship. We also study Health, Science, History, Community Helpers, and Bible. We have five specials a week; Library, Computer, Gym, Music, and Art.
Progress Reports
A folder with a progress report is sent home with tests and important notes. Parents should look at the tests, read the notes, sign, and return on Monday.
Grades
Arithmetic, Spelling, and English grades are based on weekly tests. Reading and Penmanship are graded based on my evaluation. First Graders are not graded in Health, Science, History, and Community Helpers. Specials' teachers grade the students.
Homework
We will have regular reading assignments and weekly spelling words to copy and study.
